The Author

Amongst other qualifications, I have a Post Graduate Degree in Homeopathy. This has been beneficial in creating my hedgerow witches.

Years ago, I wrote a regular full length double page feature in Our Cat’s Newspaper .

If I was asked to describe myself, I would say, I’m just a girl from Salford who speaks her mind and can tell a good tale.

Christine Frances Perry born in Salford, Lancashire. After a lifetime of moving has settled in Astley, which is in the borough of Wigan with a Manchester postcode. I know you couldn’t write it lol

As a child I was involved in a very bad road traffic accident, culminating in multiple broken bones, my right ear was stitched back on and the worst was a serious brain injury. My parents were told if I ever regained consciousness I would be a cabbage – their exact words. After being in a coma for fourteen weeks, I did wake up and started to recover. I had to learn to walk again and suffered bouts of fainting for several years. During my recovery period, I couldn’t hold a pen or a cup, my brain wasn’t sending the right messages. All I could do was read, my brother and sister would take turns holding a book and turning the pages.

The brain is a miracle all on its own and I did recover. I told my mum at the time “When I am grown up I want to write books for adults to enjoy and pass down to their children.” I am so pleased that finally I have achieved that goal, after a life time of working 🙂

I have worked mainly in office / management.

For many years we showed pedigree Siamese and British Shorthair cats, in GCCF Cat Shows, all over the UK. Until sadly I lost my husband, John Duffy in 2014. Cat shows were a hobby we shared. It wasn’t the same without John and I retired but kept in touch with many cat showing friends.

When did Witch Queen Bee start ….

Three years ago, I painted a series of three witches. An artist friend, Jo Dukes, said I really should write a book about them. The idea went into the back of my mind. The idea would have stayed there until a comment by Sir David Attenborough sparked my inspiration. He talked about the dangers of losing our bee population and I was hooked.

I am incredibly blessed to be under the wing of Crimson Cloak Publishing. Everyone there has been so supportive.

I have to personally thank, author Lynne North for her invaluable help, advice and friendship on my journey. Some people will leave their mark on our lives and Lynne is certainly a friend to treasure. Thank you x
